I was almost struck and killed by this vehicle in Missoula Montana on June 30, 2026 between 17:30 and 17:40 at the intersection of Benton Ave and Bancroft Street. I was riding my bicycle to the gym standing right next to the curb on Benton Ave, waiting to cross Bancroft Street when the vehicle, a white Volkswagen GTI with a black roof box, traveling southbound on Bancroft Street suddenly made a left turn onto Benton Ave into the wrong lane of traffic where I was standing on my bike. The car slammed its brakes and swerved around me, missing me by inches. They were driving recklessly fast and cut off drivers heading north on Bancroft Street. The other drivers rolled down their windows and appeared shocked. I’m lucky to be alive. Driver of the GTI appeared to be a male between 16-19 years old with light colored eyes and curly light brown blonde hair. At the time of the incident there was also a passenger in the car, male, dark brown hair, appeared to also be 16-19 years old.
