LookupAplate.com ("LAP") offers a platform for users to share their experiences of bad or poor driving they encounter on the road through comments, pictures, and videos. Occasionally, users may submit content that is untrue, inappropriate, or malicious.
As LAP's content is user-generated, the platform cannot be held responsible for published content. Additionally, 47 U.S.C. §230(c)(1) of the Communications Decency Act says, “No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.”
This provision of the Communications Decency Act applies to all websites, including but not limited to Meta, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google. Users who post content are ultimately responsible for the material they contribute.
While LAP continuously screens malicious content as it comes in, users can help by reporting such content using the form below. We believe the quickest way to resolve a discrepancy about the information posted on LAP is for users to directly write a rebuttal to the facts they believe are incorrect on the page where the content has been posted.
