The driver of this silver 2020 Honda Civic did the following at 4:25pm on 5/8/2025, heading southbound on Grove Street at Dodd St: - Failed to yield to a cyclist riding lawfully in the street -- attempted to pass despite traffic in both directions. - Failed to obey NJ safe passing law (requiring 4ft clearance to pass bikers or pedestrians). - Passed slower traffic on the right, pulling onto the marked shoulder of the roadway (solid white line) and accelerating around cyclist with right-of-way. - The shoulder contains traffic delineators precisely to prevent unsafe passing on the right. Upon almost hitting the delineator, the driver swerved back into the lane to avoid it, nearly hitting the cyclist; the driver then continued pulling leftward across the lane to force the cyclist toward oncoming traffic. The driver aggressively took full lane immediately in front of the cyclist. - The driver gestured out window with middle finger at the cyclist. Based on conduct, the driver seems unaware of the driving laws of NJ, and uninterested in protecting fellow roadway users from themselves.
