On Saturday 9/19/26 around 3pm. This vehicle was involved in a hit and run striking a child on a bike near 9113 Oak Park Ave in Oak Park, IL. Heading southbound in front of Lieb Elementary School, I witnessed a child on a bicycle get hit by this light blue-colored truck. He was at the crosswalk going northbound on Oak Park. The car was going southbound. The boy fell onto his left side off his black bicycle and was crying afterward. I’m concerned he may have injured the left side of his body/face. Description of the boy: • Possibly in middle school • Caramel complexion with black hair • Wearing an army green T-shirt I was approximately the 3rd car back at the intersection. He was able to get up onto his bicycle. As he drove past me, I rolled down the window and advised him to turn around and get her number, but he continued riding and crying. I quickly drove up to the woman who was driving the Maverick. I told her she had just hit a child on a bicycle and needed to go to the police. She responded with a snotty attitude: “He was fine.” I said, “Shame on you!” and took her picture. Bridgeview, IL police have been notified, and I also contacted the nearby middle school, Simmons, and left a message in case a student comes to school Monday with an unexplained injury. I do not believe it was a Lieb student as they get out later. Since it is now the weekend, I’m posting this in hopes of reaching his parents sooner just in case he needs to be seen by a doctor. My biggest concern is that this child may have gone home scared and not told his parents that he was hit by a car. I went to the police, and they already have my statement.
