While traveling eastbound on I-80 on June 22, 2025, we encountered a driver operating a black Toyota RAV4 with Nebraska plates (20-D985) who exhibited intentionally reckless and disruptive behavior on the highway. The driver persistently blocked our attempts to pass by repeatedly cutting us off and deliberately changing lanes to stay directly in front of our vehicle. Any time we attempted to use the passing lane to safely move around them, they would mirror our movement and match the speed of the vehicle in the adjacent lane—intentionally preventing us from passing and slowing down our progress. This behavior continued for approximately 5–10 minutes. It was clear the driver was engaging in intentional road obstruction or “brake-checking” tactics, which significantly disrupted the normal flow of traffic and posed a potential hazard to other drivers behind us. Her actions caused unnecessary congestion and increased the risk of a rear-end collision as surrounding vehicles were forced to adapt to unpredictable changes in traffic pace. As a result of this aggressive behavior, we were separated from the group of vehicles we were traveling with, which not only impacted our safety plan but added to the stress and confusion on the road. Eventually, we were able to maneuver around her safely. However, as we passed, the driver made an obscene gesture by flipping us off—further confirming that her actions were deliberate and rooted in aggression rather than poor driving judgment.
